BOUQUET
Lifted citrus and fresh-cut grass aromas with some underlying tropical notes.

PALATE
The palate is bright and inviting with luscious citrus and tropical notes, and herbaceous undertones.
The juicy fruit characters are well balanced with a crisp natural acidity that gives body, length and a very clean refreshing finish.

COLOUR
Dark cherry red with vibrant purple hues.

BOUQUET
The bouquet displays opulent, fresh fruit flavours with creamy vanillin nuances and notes of spice. Typical Shiraz characters of blackberry and mulberry are combined with notes of black pepper to deliver a fruit driven bouquet.

PALATE
A fruit-driven, full-bodied wine that you will remember for a long time! The palate has intense, ripe, juicy characters with plums and blackberry the dominant fruit flavours. Concentrated fruit weight on the mid-palate with succulent, silky, tannins that stretch over the entirety of the palate offer a harmonious balance and smooth finish. This wine is drinking well on release and will continue to soften and improve as it ages in bottle.

CARTEL 2013 CABERNET SAUVIGNON PADTHAWAY

COLOUR
Deep cherry red with a crimson hue.

BOUQUET
Rich, attractive aromas of mint leaf, red currant, blackberry and well integrated delicate oak contributing some vanillin and cedar nuances. Expect to see some development of cigar box and leather characters with age.

PALATE
Typical of the region, the 2013 Cartel Padthaway Cabernet Sauvignon has rich, ripe berry and minty leaf characters that are well integrated with fine vanillin oak notes. Firm velvety tannins give length and structure creating a wonderful lingering mouthfeel. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will also reward extended cellaring.

Concentrated deep cherry red with brick red hues.

BOUQUET
Rich aromas of spicy, dark fruit conserve and dark chocolate, with attractive creamy, vanillin oak notes and earthy undertones.

PALATE
This Shiraz displays opulent, mouth-filling fruit flavours of spicy ripe plum, and black berry with dark chocolate notes. The primary fruit characters are well complimented by some leathery, earthy tones and an alluring vanillin oak profile. This superbly structured wine has a smooth tannin profile with some creamy textures provided by the well-integrated oak. This wine is drinking well on release and the full-bodied structure and fruit characters mean that it will also develop wonderfully with careful cellaring.

COLOUR
Concentrated deep crimson with a purple tinge.

BOUQUET
Intense aromas of blackcurrant, cinnamon, and herbaceous mint notes with fine oak contributing vanillin and cedar nuances. Expect to see some cigar box characters with age.

PALATE
The Limited Release 2013 Cartel Cabernet Sauvignon has great fruit weight composed of abundant ripe berry fruits, and herbaceous minty leaf and capsicum characters, typical of Coonawarra. Fine vanillin oak notes are well integrated with firm velvety tannins giving length and structure and creating a wonderful lingering mouthfeel. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will definitely reward extended cellaring.

Concentrated deep brick red with auburn hues.

BOUQUET
Rich aromas of dark plum, raisins and berry conserve, with attractive creamy, vanillin oak notes and earthy chocolate undertones. The age of the wine is evident on the nose showing many developed secondary characters.

PALATE
This Shiraz displays opulent, mouth-filling fruit flavours of ripe plum, raisins and black berry conserve with spicy vanilla notes and hints of nutty rancio complexities. The primary fruit characters are well complimented by an alluring vanillin oak profile creating a superbly structured wine with a silky smooth mouthfeel and some creamy textures provided by the well-integrated oak. This wine is drinking well on release and the full-bodied structure and intense fruit characters mean that it will also develop wonderfully with careful cellaring.
